Inside ISC West 2026: Trends Shaping the Future of Security
Apr 06, 2026
This March, our team headed to Las Vegas to attend ISC West 2026 at the Venetian Expo, the largest converged security event in the U.S.
This event brings together thousands of professionals across physical security, cybersecurity, and IT. ISC West has been and continues to be a key moment each year to get insight into where the industry is heading. This year reinforced a clear shift in the industry, with security becoming increasingly more connected, intelligent, and focused on people.
Inside the Event
From the moment we walked onto the show floor, it was immediately clear how large ISC West is. The event brought together thousands of security professionals over the course of the week, with the exhibit hall running March 25-27 and education sessions running earlier.
Booths ranged from large-scale manufacturer setups to smaller startup spaces, all showcasing the latest in access control, video surveillance, and integrated security systems. Live demos took place throughout the day, giving a closer look at how these technologies actually function in real-world environments.
A major focus this year was artificial intelligence. Across multiple booths, companies were highlighting AI-driven capabilities, from advanced video analytics to newer developments like generative AI and hybrid AI video management systems. There was also a noticeable emphasis on cybersecurity, particularly as it relates to connected devices and IoT-based systems.
The SIA Education@ISC sessions covered a wide range of topics, including AI applications, business operations, and the evolving role of security within organizations. At the same time, networking events and partner-led sessions created opportunities to connect with others across the industry and exchange insights.
For our team, being able to see these different types of hardware in person and talk directly with our partners and vendors made a big difference. It provided a clearer picture of what’s new, what’s practical, and what’s actually being implemented today.
What We Saw on the Show Floor
Across the exhibit hall, several key technology areas stood out:
-
AI-powered video analytics that go beyond monitoring to deliver real-time insights
-
Advanced access control systems, including mobile credentials and biometrics
-
Cloud-based platforms enabling centralized, scalable security management
-
Smart building integrations connecting security with broader operational systems
-
Emerging technologies like robotics and autonomous monitoring
Most of these solutions aren’t conceptual, and are already being deployed and refined in real-world environments.
A Standout Experience: Verkada’s “Louvre” Booth
One of the most memorable experiences on the show floor was Verkada’s immersive “Louvre” exhibit.
Instead of a traditional booth, Verkada created a museum-style environment built around a simple but powerful concept: what if the Louvre had Verkada?
The space walked attendees through a simulated art theft, turning the booth into a live demonstration of how modern security systems can work together in unison. As the scenario unfolded, you could follow the investigation step by step, from identifying a person of interest on camera to tracking their movement across multiple areas and correlating access events.
What made this experience stand out was how clearly it showcased the value of integration. Everything operated within a single platform, making it easy to piece together a full timeline without switching between systems.
It wasn’t just visually impressive, it was practical and grounded in a real-world situation. It demonstrated how quickly teams can move from detection to understanding and response when their tools are connected and intuitive. It was a great example of where the industry is headed, and how security solutions are designed to reflect everyday scenarios and workflows.
Key Themes from ISC West 2026
After walking the show floor and attending various sessions, several clear themes emerged that reflect where the security industry is heading.
-
Convergence: The line between physical security and IT continues to disappear. Organizations are no longer treating these as separate systems, but as part of one unified strategy.
-
AI is Becoming Practical: Artificial intelligence is actively being used to improve detection, automate processes, and support faster decision-making.
-
Identity is the New Perimeter: Security is shifting from protecting spaces to verifying people. Digital credentials, biometrics, and identity-based access are becoming central to modern security strategies.
-
Integration is Everything: End users are prioritizing solutions that work together seamlessly. The ability to integrate systems is now just as important as the systems themselves.
Together, these themes highlight a broader shift toward smarter, more connected security ecosystems that are built to adapt and scale with evolving needs.
Why It Matters to LTT Partners
Attending ISC West isn’t just about seeing new technology, but understanding how those innovations translate into real solutions for our clients.
Events like this give our team the opportunity to evaluate platforms firsthand, connect directly with manufacturers like Verkada, and better understand how these systems perform in real-world environments. Experiences like the "Louvre" exhibit highlight what's possible with the right technology, but also reinforce the importance of having the right partner to design, install, and support those systems effectively.
It gives us the opportunity to:
-
Connect directly with industry leaders and partners
-
Evaluate new technologies firsthand
-
Stay ahead of trends that are shaping the future of security
Most importantly, it ensures we continue delivering solutions that are not only current, but thoughtfully implemented and built to perform in real-world applications.
Industry Takeaways
